So what about those physical symptoms? The night sweats, hot flushes and loss of libido to name a few.
Firstly, there is often a psychological component to the physical symptoms. One client I worked with discovered that, although there was some physical element to her hot flushes, this strong response that she was experiencing was primarily due to unresolved anger which was surfacing at the time for her.
Secondly, we can work together to manage menopausal symptoms using hypnotherapy techniques. Research conducted by Professor Gary Elkins, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Baylor’s College of Arts and Sciences, Texas revealed a decrease in hot flushes by women experiencing the menopause when they used hypnosis. Over a course of five weeks, women’s experience of hot flushes had decreased by about 70%.
